We have a new evening routine where we fire up my phone and have AI make us silly pictures. It’s a silly and fun way to get her to wind down and go to bed.1 Usually it’s something silly like this:
But today it’s all about autism at her school - this week actually and today she was advised to dress up in either bright colors or wear something with a message.
She chose to break all the rules and could not decide so she wore not one, not two but three different shirts to school today. One over the other. She came home with just two and I have no idea where the third is, probably still at school.
She’s been learning about autism and that’s good because despite what the current administration thinks- it’s okay to be different. It’s okay to be accepting and kind to others.
If it takes 3 shirts or a funny hat or whatever else the school does to make this a fun learning experience, I am all for it.
I’m proud of her that she’s paying attention at school and that the school is teaching this and that she is learning that April is not just about the Easter Bunny.

The Puzzle
Tonight after dinner, the child wanted to play a puzzle. She brought it over to me but I was busy putting some stuff away and BW was well enough to sit at the table again after her surgery so I asked both of them to play together.
They did and without complaint, which was odd, but - I ran with it.
I had to laugh when she piped up when she was cleaning up the puzzle:
This is fun! It really beats up my boredom!
And on that note, I really hope I have beat up your boredom tonight.
I didn’t say it always works, but it’s an attempt.
