And… we were doing well today. Then at Bedtime…
We couldn’t find Don. Don - for those of you who are new here is the child’s favorite toy.
Of course, this missing toy thing happens at bedtime after we have cleaned up, washed sheets and all the Sunday night things were done. We should have seen Don somewhere. We did not see Don. Don was nowhere to be found.
The thing about Don is she is seven now. I would think/hope that Don is near the end of his lifespan and he will be replaced with an iPhone eventually - but that’s in the future and right now, right here I am wandering around the house with a flashlight looking for a stuffed animal whilst a very tired child follows behind whining and whimpering.
So I did what was need in an emergency like this: I created a substituy\te. This is not my first rodeo doing this and so tonight, like I did before I grabbed a clean single sock from the single sock pile, grabbed a clean pair of soon to be too small for her underpants and jammed underpants in the sock, tied a knot in the top of the sock and there you have it: Socky Underpants.
I don’t know what it is, but you guys - this works. A sock with a knot. No eyes, or decorations or anything of the sort. It’s a sock.
But, she’s fast asleep with it now and that’s all that matters and I sure hope Don shows up tomorrow because I don’t know how much longer I keep going with the sock trick.
Also, we went to the mall and had frozen yogurt:
she got all dressed up in a dress and gold purse and then posed for photos like it was a fashion shoot. If you look closely, you can see the chocolate on her face so maybe next photo shoot we wash our face first.
Or maybe it’s shoot first, ask for frozen yogurt later. :)
Until Next Time,
TH and Co.
