The Easter Bunny Starts Really Early
and works late. The Easter Bunny is Tired.
I don’t know when she got to bed exactly. 10ish, maybe?
I blame the nap in the car on the way home from celebrating Easter a day early with family. It wasn’t much of a nap but it was enough for the chocolate and sweets and excitement to kick in all over again.
So yeah, it was late. We even tried to do the trick where BW would “pretend” to go to bed because if we’re all in be then the easter bunny would come faster. I told the child that I wasn’t going to bed yet because I had some stuff to do but BW went with it and big surprise - fell asleep.
I am the Easter Bunny. BW had it all together and I just put it on the kitchen table and sprinkled some eggs around the living room - after I put the dog in her crate for the night - otherwise there would not be any eggs to find.
So, yea. Late night but we did it.
At 5ish am, I hear the familiar “Hi Dad” as she crawls into bed with me excited as can be - but she knows the rule - easter starts at 6am here. No earlier.
I continued to watch the insides of my eyelids and she watched the clock and waited patiently. I have to hand it to her. She just lay there and waited until it was right at 6am and then we went to go see what the easter bunny brought.
She got stuff. Some chocolate, some small toys and some clothes.
6:05am - “I’m bored”, she tells me.
I tell her to say hello to YouTube Kids and I go back to say hello to my bed so I can start the day over.
And that folks- was our Easter. I went out and ubere-d a bit, and the ladies stayed home and watched TV and videos and the child stayed in her PJ’s all day. It was that kind of day.
Tomorrow is the real challenge: The first day of spring break. Stay tuned.. this should be a good week. :)
Here’s hoping all your chocolate this year was the good kind. :)
Until next time,
TH and Co.
