I’m so full of turkey I can’t move but here I am writing about how lucky we are. I know the news is full of hate and bad news and others have it a lot worse than we do. We are aware that others are not as fortunate and we are teaching the child that we help others too and not just ourselves.
I'm thankful for a lot of things but here’s a few things that happened just today that I am thankful for.
In no particular order:
A healthy child who got enough sleep the night before
An invitation to the home country for a turkey dinner with friends and family. It was great to see little ones that are not so little any more. I’m not sure how that happened. Heck, even my little one keeps growing faster than I would like.
There was a dessert selection. Any day where you get to choose a dessert is a good one.
The drive over the border was uneventful both ways. Yes, there was a wait due to the traffic, but the jokes and silliness in the car about farts and the laughter from the back seat made it all worthwhile.
Now that I’m home, I’m thankful that the child did not fall asleep in the car and when we got home just brushed her teeth and went to bed.
My readers. Yes, you. I’m no influencer or authorator and just a Dad writing about navigating the waters of parenting when he would rather be napping. I have readers and that’s so cool. Thank you.
I’m home and don’t have to listen to Taylor Swift in the car anymore. It was a long drive
