“Oh, it smells like home”, she said as she opened the car door.
I guess that’s as good a greeting as anyone can get.
She got unloaded and was very happy to see the dog, and then Mom and then it was dear old Dad’s turn for a big hug.
Once the dust settled and we got everybody inside and fed, she said to me:
“Hey Dad!”, I bet it was quiet without me here.
“Oh, it sure was”, I replied.
TOO Quiet, in fact.
But we’re so happy to have you back home and that you had a fantastic time with Abuela.
After dinner she had to go try out the new telescope she found at a yard sale during her time away so we waited until dark and then she laid on the ground with her telescope with her Mom and they looked at the moon and stars.
Then PJ’s and she was out like a light without any fuss.
I have no pictures of the homecoming because it’s tricky to hug and take photos at the same time.
Until next time,
