Don't Touch That
A story about sticky fingers and fine art.
Back in the day when we were free-reign kids we used to be able to wander the toy aisles without parental supervision, but before we were freed, my Dad would always say to us:
”Keep your hands in your pockets - you see with your eyes and not you hands”
And….we never did.
But I want to tell you what happened today with the child. Whilst I ubered for a bit the ladies when to the art gallery to see an exhibit and this is hard for any child because there’s so many things to see and touch.
They told me they went and saw a few highly touchable displays that were not to be touched.
She saw a VERY large ceramic or acrylic. Heck, I’m not sure what material it was made of - it was made of something. The big news is the child knew not to touch and she did not touch it although I am told the urge was great.
For another exhibit they had a painting that was more 3D than not, and again - it’s hard to resist. But the gallery was smart - they had a sample nailed to the wall beside the art that you could touch, so that was fair game.
Just a note to remember that today was a good day. No screaming, no touching.
Just Fun. On a rainy Saturday afternoon with Mommy at the Art Gallery.
Until Next Time,
TH and Co.

We had a blast
