I bet BW isn’t thinking it’s the best day ever. She’s home from the hospital though so that’s a very good thing. Now all it takes is time and some painkillers for a bit and she’ll be back in no time.
After I got BW home in bed and her medication sorted out the child and I went to PlayU, which I can’t really figure out what it is. It’s connected directly to Niagara Fun Park, which I have written about before:
This is an odd place. It’s got a few bouncy houses and some small rooms that glow in the dark etc, and it’s as if they are trying to be all the things to everybody because besides birthday parties and bouncy houses they all have batting cages and what look to be soccer fields. It’s an odd layout to me. How do you mix birthday cakes and batting cages?
Anyway, check it out yourself: Play University
We know about this place because a few weeks back she had her very first school field trip into another city and they went here. I think it may have been more fun for her that day as she was with 20 of her friends all the same age and size and probably they had the place to themselves.
Today, being a Saturday was not the same. I took her obviously, but the bouncy houses were full of a birthday party of 12 year old boys and their play was just a little too rough and tumble for her. They should have block off the birthday party for the 12 year olds I think as she was too afraid to really play without getting hurt.
That said, kudos to one kid for moving out of the way to have a turn and then shouting down below to his buddies to watch it as my little one was coming down the slide. Good on you, young man.
Of course all this didn’t matter to her. She bounced, sang and made a bed out of foam yoga blocks and sung a concert where I am sure the only one listening to her sing was the two of us.
She was in there for an hour and a half and I think that was enough.
On the way home we stopped at the grocery store to pick up some flowers for mommy and we were looking for a treat for her as a reward for being so good this past week (and lately overall).
As were were debating the sweet vs salty options the sweet presented in my favorite form: free! They were handing out perfect sized little chocolate muffins and she was thrilled!
“Well, that solves the snack problem”, she told me.
Indeed it does.
While slurping on a chocolate milk, she told me:
OMG this is the best chocolate milk I ever had! Best day ever.
I don’t know about that, but it was a pretty good day or at least it ended a lot better for all of us than when the day started.
And around here, we call that a win.
