Another Day, Another Donut
Some call this homeschooling. I call it a very long day.
Apparently the child isn’t going to school much this month with last tuesday off for superintendent’s day and this tuesday for veteran’s day. Add 2 more days in a week for something that I have no idea what it is about - but she only goes to school 3.5 days that week.
The week after is thanksgiving which means more days off school. This means we all have seen a lot of each other and today has been just one day with the child this week - next week there are two.
God Help Me.
You would think it was summer vacation, but in November.
What I can tell you is that today this was not supposed to happen:
The plan was to stay away from the donut shop because she’s had a fair bit of sweets the past few days, but we had to run an errand and figured well, seeing as how we are in the area - what the heck.
Besides, Dad needed coffee.
She made it halfway through that monster of a donut before she tapped out and we took the rest home to be consumed another day.
Besides donuts and what seemed like the six times I unloaded the dishwasher today we played 2 board games multiple times, made a christmas tree and played Christmas Gifts where I had to go up to her bedroom and find some toys off the floor to put in the bag to give to her - and as I write this there’s an entire Whoville setup on the living room floor 1
Today I have cut out little paper xmas decorations so she can glue them on her christmas house - but first I had to get the glue working out of dried off end because she never puts the caps back on the glue sticks and now there are no glue sticks in the house and that’s why we’re using school glue like barbarians.
Its snowed another six inches overnight so I have found gloves to put on and then dried off the glvoes on the heat register to dry off, and put away sleds left outside and found a basketball in the front yard under the snow that should have been put away before it snowed.
I have also sung along to - and watched her dance to - Santa Claus is Coming To Town - multiple times today.
We have hit peak Christmas as far as she is concerned and we’re still weeks away. God help me.
I know what I want for Christmas: A full week of school.
Singing to the Classics,
TH and Co.
Actually, I have no idea what this is but she was talking about this just before dinner so I’m going with it.
